Report: Misinformation on the suffocation of marine life in Denmark

In our new report we find that nearly half of Danes mistakenly believe that wastewater is the primary cause of death of marine life in the Danish inlets. Digital agricultural voices have distorted the truth over the years, and local media have often focused more on wastewater related problems than the primary cause. The social media debate is also skewed, with posts about wastewater being shared twice as much as those about agriculture's role, especially after the Øresund case in 2020. Politicians and agricultural organizations also play a significant role in this misconception.

The study was conducted by Common Consultancy and Opinion & the Other One for Foreningen Klimaindsigt, funded by KR Foundation.
